Mindfulness.....

So what is it?

Mindfulness helps you to learn to manage difficult feelings without over thinking, supressing or supporting that feeling.

It can also give you a way to examine any stresses or worries without giving way to any chaos. Making the exploration safe from harm.

Another way it can help you is it can enable you to take any worries and create a protection around them to ensure the worries do not bring harm to you.

For mindfulness to work for you it is like a lot of things practice makes you better at it. So ideally doing it on a daily basis is preferred.

My son is nine years old and since he started in reception they have had mindfulness at the school. From the children that I know at the school they seem to really enjoy it. Either that or just that it means they are not doing maths or something!! Hahahahaha.

Whilst looking into this I discovered whilst looking on the headspace website that there is an app too. So I have got the app and I will let you know how I find it. The app is called Headspace in case you want to give it a try yourself.

Here are some websites that I have found if you wish to look further into it:

As I find out more I will add to this post. Please get involved and comment x

I love Andy Puddicombe, one of the founders of Headspace. It is a good app for a beginner for sure. Mindfulness is just one type of meditation (it's origins are in Buddhism).

I have recently done a mindfulness diploma and also for children, I loved it and I am going to try and get my son to give it a go. I am fascinated to see if it helps him xx
