So I am mega thrilled that this year the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is NATURE. This is a very successful campaign and has been running for 21 years.
This is fantastic and I truly do believe that nature can help mend us. Everyone has had a tough year and to top it off my Dad got cancer last year and we sadly lost him in July. So lockdown was so hard with not being able to visit etc... the timing was terrible. During this time I was looking at ways to distract myself and keep me going, I did this by doing things in my garden with my family, I have always loved wildlife and that was down to my dad and that is why I decided we would take part in The Widlife Trusts 30 Days Wild in JUNE. This was fantastic and we have just basically carried it on every since and I can say without a doubt that it truly did help us and this is when I really started looking in to it more.
Seven steps to have a go at:
1/ Find nature wherever you are.
2/ Connect with nature using all your senses.
3/ Get out in nature.
4/ Bring nature to you.
5/ Excercise in nature.
6/ Combine nature with creativity.
7/ Protect nature.
